Dr. Melanie Stegman

Biography

Melanie Stegman, Ph.D. was interested in how cells worked from the age of 11 when she learned about Alzheimer’s Disease. Trained as a biochemist and fruit fly geneticist, Melanie jumped headfirst into the world of game design and development in 2008 when she joined the Learning Technologies Program at the Federation of American Scientists. Melanie secured funding from the NIH and conducted a large scale, controlled study of learning and confidence gains in players of the game Immune Attack. Using this research, Melanie has designed and produced numerous serious games and many more prototypes. Melanie’s Baltimore based studio is Molecular Jig Games. Read more at MolecularJig.com
